If you have ever tried to order custom socks in the UAE, you have probably run into the same three problems. Suppliers who only talk to you above a thousand pairs. Quotes that arrive as a digital mockup rather than something you can hold. And a finish that turns out to be printed on top of the sock rather than knitted into it.
Whether you call them customised socks, customized socks or simply logo socks, this guide covers how ordering personalised socks with your own logo actually works, what to ask a supplier before you pay anything, and what a realistic minimum order looks like. This guide comes from the custom orders we handle for UAE businesses, not from a catalogue.
Looking for a sock manufacturer in the UAE?
Most businesses searching for socks manufacturers in the UAE, or for custom made socks suppliers, are not looking for a factory. They are looking for someone who will handle the design, the production and the delivery, and who will answer the phone when something needs changing.
There are three types of supplier you will come across.
Overseas factories. Cheapest per pair at very high volumes. Long lead times measured in months of sea freight, minimums usually starting at 1,000 pairs per design, and no realistic way to fix a problem once the container has sailed.
Print shops. If you have been quoted for custom sock printing, this is what you are buying. Fast and cheap, but they print onto a blank sock. The design sits on the surface, and it cracks and fades after a handful of washes. Fine for a one day event, wrong for anything a person will actually wear.
Local custom sock suppliers. Lower minimums, weeks rather than months, and someone accountable in the same time zone. This is where we sit.
Knitted or printed? This is the decision that matters
Everything else on this page is detail. This one is not.
A printed sock has your artwork applied to the surface of a finished blank. It looks correct on day one. After ten or fifteen washes the print begins to crack, and the colour lifts away from the fabric.
A knitted sock has the design built into the sock as it is made. The colour is the yarn itself. There is nothing sitting on the surface to crack, because the design and the fabric are the same thing. A knitted sock looks the same after fifty washes as it did new. This is the real difference between custom printed socks and custom knitted socks, and it is worth asking about before you pay.
Every pair we make is knitted. We do not print. If you are comparing quotes and one is noticeably cheaper, this is almost always the reason.
What is a realistic minimum order for custom socks?
Ours is 50 pairs per design.
That number is deliberately low. A café with eight staff, a studio with sixty members or an agency running a single client activation should not have to commit to a thousand pairs to find out whether branded socks are worth doing. Order fifty, see how people react, then come back for five hundred. Proper bulk custom socks pricing kicks in as the quantity climbs, so your cost per pair falls the more you order.
Each design is quoted separately, and each size is produced as its own run. So one design in one size at fifty pairs is straightforward. Three designs across three sizes is really nine separate runs, and it is priced that way.
How the process works, start to finish
1. Send your logo and tell us what you want. A vector file is best, so AI, EPS, SVG or PDF. A high resolution PNG works too. If you do not have artwork ready we design it for you, free of charge.
2. We knit a real sample. Not a mockup on a screen. An actual sock, in your hands, in about three working days. You can wash it, stretch it and put it on before you commit to a production run.
3. You approve, we produce. Production takes one to two weeks after you approve the sample. We send you a photo of the first knitted pair off the machine before the full run continues, so nothing is a surprise at the end.
4. Delivery. Anywhere in the UAE, free on orders of 500 pairs or more.
What can actually be customised?
More than most people expect.
- Your logo, knitted in. Anywhere on the sock: the leg, the cuff, the foot, the sole.
- Full colour matching. Send your brand colours and we match them in the yarn.
- Length and cut. Ankle, mid cut crew, half crew, or full crew.
- Anti slip grip. Silicone on the sole in more than five patterns, including your logo repeated across the grip. Essential for gyms, pilates studios, play areas and clinics.
- Kids sizes, 1 to 6 years. For schools, nurseries and family brands.
- Woven labels. Your own brand tag sewn in, so the sock is retail ready.
Who orders custom socks, and why
Corporate gifting. Branded socks for men and women get worn. Pens, mugs and tote bags end up in a drawer. A sock with your logo knitted in gets pulled on at six in the morning by someone who chose it over everything else in the drawer.
Gyms, studios and play areas. Grip socks are usually mandatory, which means members are buying them anyway. Selling your own at the front desk turns a required purchase into brand visibility.
Hotels and spas. Slippers get thrown away. Socks go home in the suitcase.
Cafés and restaurants. Staff uniform socks, and merchandise for regulars who actually want the branding.
Schools and universities. Team socks, graduation gifts, and sports kit.
Events and activations. Something people keep instead of a flyer they drop at the door.
Questions to ask any custom sock supplier
Whether you order from us or not, these five questions will tell you most of what you need to know.
Is it knitted or printed? If they avoid answering directly, it is printed.
Do I get a physical sample before production? A digital mockup is not a sample. You cannot see how a colour actually knits until it is knitted.
What is the real minimum per design, not per order? Some suppliers quote a low total minimum but require it all in one design and one size.
Are sizes quoted separately? Each size is a separate production run everywhere in the industry. A quote that ignores this usually grows later.
Who owns the artwork? If they design it for you, confirm in writing that the design is yours.
